I like help'n 4-H kids get started with good stock. It seems they get Jazzed about the whole deal more if they think their stuff is better than average. Well a friend of mine's son started this last year. He just turned 10.... I gave him 3 lavender hens and a rooster early last fall along with a little cockerel that was just old enough that I was'nt real sure it was a he..... Well George loves him. even after something killed two of the hens he is hang'n on to the extra little cockerel. last weekend was the first contest they went to.... he got a blue ribbon and is proud as he can be...... The little cockerel aint much to brag on just yet, but he's still young.......

I guess so!!!!!!!!!! It's so nice to see young ones get an interest in something and follow through.  Especially when you have helped them get started  :)
